This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Anthony Brooks who was born in Connecticut on May 7, 1945 and passed away on July 24, 2011. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

1945-2011

 

Anthony “Tony” Brooks passed away Sunday morning, July 24, 2011 at University Physician's Hospital-Kino, Tucson, Arizona.. Tony was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1945 to Charles and Lucille Brooks. His family moved to Morris Plains, New Jersey where he attended parochial schools and graduated from Baley-Ellard High School. Tony began his college career at LaSalle College in Pennsylvania. After 8 years of active duty with the US Air Force, he attended the University of Arizona, earning a BA degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance, and pursuing advanced studies in Secondary School Administration.

 

Tony taught History and Social Studies in the Flowing Wells School District in Tucson until retirement. He also continued to served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves until retirement. An avid basketball fan and coach, Tony refereed many middle school and high school basketball games throughout Tucson over the years and worked in basketball camps and tournaments with his most recent association being assistant basketball coach for his grandson Raiden's team at the Ott YMCA this summer.
 

Tony and his wife of 43 years, Eunice, have lived in the City of Tucson since 1971. They have 3 sons, Eric, Sr., Roland, and Gavin; five grandsons, Anthony Douglas, Eric, Jr., Christopher, Raiden and Ethan; and 2 great grandchildren, Aiden and Anthony Raul. Tony had one brother, Nicholas Brooks of Columbus, Ohio.

 

Tony was a loving father and husband and truly will be missed by family and friends. The memorial service and interment will be held October 3 in Sierra Vista, Arizona with full military honors. The family may be contacted for details by e-mailing tonybrooksmem@gmail.com.

Memorial Service:   Location 60 miles SE of Tucson.  Take I-10 to Ft. Huachuca exit 302, procede about 28 miles south.  You will be on the Buffalo Soldier's Trail.  Go 1 mile past the Fort Huachuca Main Gate and turn right into the Cemetery.

Monday, October 3, 2011, at 11 am sharp, military honours will be performed by Air Force Honor Guard.
